The unit aids in maintaining ideal health of the livestock and producing milk of higher quality. The detector operates using the principle of electric resistance measurement. The milk from the quarter affected by sub-clinical garget features increased salt content which results in decrease of electric resistance of the milk. It helps to distinguish affected and non-affected quarters, and separate milk of lower quality from that of high quality. The operation procedure of the device is very simple — measuring cup should be filled with the first jets of milk from the quarter in question. Then press the switch and calculate the result. Illuminated indicator is convenient for operating the device in low illumination of dairy byre. The device requires no additional chemicals for performing the test.
